
Smart Card Protection That Knows When to Step In
Added Security for Your Online Purchases
We’re always looking for ways to keep your money safe while making your banking experience as smooth as possible. On August 19, we added an extra layer of fraud protection for your CFCU Visa® Credit Card when shopping online.
Here’s How It Works:
When you shop online, our new system works behind the scenes to confirm that it’s really you making the purchase. Here’s what happens:
- Most purchases go through normally. If everything looks safe, your transaction is approved right away with no extra steps.
- If something looks unusual, you may be asked to confirm the purchase by entering a One-Time Passcode (OTP) sent to you by text, email, or phone call (based on the contact information we have on file).
- If the system detects likely fraud, the transaction will be declined to protect your account.
What you’ll see if extra verification is needed:
At checkout, you’ll see a secure screen asking how you’d like to receive your passcode. You can choose text message, email, or phone call. Then, simply enter the code to complete your purchase.
- Text message codes will come from number: 90742.
- Email codes will come from visasecure@pscu.com.
- Phone call codes will come from an automated system that will read your code aloud.
For your security, each code can only be used once. If entered incorrectly three times, your transaction will be stopped and you’ll need to contact us for help.

Keep your info up to date:
To make sure you receive your passcodes without delay, please check that your phone number and email address on file with us are current. Your security is our priority. With this upgrade, you can shop online with even more confidence knowing your card is protected.
